Replicas of the necklace worn by Kate Winslet in the movie Titanic will be given away to commemorate the release of the film in 3D. Each necklace will be worth $15000 and will be designed to replicate the Heart of the Ocean pendant worn by Kate in the 1997 feature film.
According to the Hollywood Reporter each necklace will be recreated by jewelry designer Daniel Espinosa who is commissioned by Fox Mexico. The necklace will consist of a pendant with a heart shaped Zirconia encased by 106 diamond shaped zircon in a setting of sterling silver. Five of the replicas will be given away to private collectors through an auction while the sixth necklace will be available to the public through a competition on You Tube details of which are still to be announced.
